A new study showed that ultrasound combined with breast x ray photography can improve the diagnosis rate of breast cancer in women at high risk, but at the same time, the false positive rate than x ray photography alone is much higher. Ultrasound combined with x ray photography make the diagnosis rate of breast cancer 28%, but the false positive rate than x ray photography alone three times higher! These women had to accept this unnecessary biopsies.
